CHDSK Command and Usage

COMMAND

CHKDSK [d:][path][filename] [/F][/V]

Checks for disk errors and health

EXAMPLES

CHKDSK c: /F /V

Checks your C: Drive for errors and fixes them and the displays results

CHKDSK D: /F /V

Checks your D: Drive for errors and fixes them and the displays results

CHKDSK C:

CHKDSK will scan drive C and report a status as follows;

45363996 bytes total disk space
3448 bytes in 2 hidden files
91086 bytes in 8 user files
2348542 bytes available on disk

624288 bytes total memory
328976 bytes free
